The Queensland Rodeo Association (Q.R.A.) was formed in 1982 and have gone from strength to strength holding over Eighty Events annually in all parts of the state, the Q.R.A. are registered to hold Rodeos in any State of Australia if a Committee wish to register with them.
All Rodeo Events are catered for, Open Bull Ride, Novice Bull Ride, Open Saddle Ride, Bareback Ride, Novice Saddle Ride, Bullock Ride, Rope & Tie, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Novice Horse Barrel Race, Ladies Barrel Race, Ladies Steer Undecorating, Ladies Breakaway Roping, Junior Barrel, Juvenile Barrel, Junior Steer Ride, Juvenile Steer Ride, Juvenile Bull Ride & Juvenile Breakaway Roping. Junior Bareback Ride. Juvenile Bareback Ride.
The State Branch Championships have been held at Roma 2004, Augathella 2005 & Tara 2006, 2007 , 2008 & 2009 the top five Contestants qualified to compete at the Australian Championships in August each year.
The Q.R.A. Final Rodeo for the 2009 Season was held at Condamine and the presentation night was held in Roma . Three Trophy Saddles plus sixteen Trophy Buckles were given out to the supportive competitors.
A new Board of Dirctors was formed on January 9, in Roma, consisting of 5 members with a shared chairmans job. Cheryl Tarry remains the secretary.
